Winter 2009

Cool in School is a programme to teach social skills and help children learn strategies to help them cope with challenging real life situations.  The programme has been running in other part of Scotland and has been very successful.  We are introducing this programme within our school.

Raigmore's Got Talent!

There certainly is a lot of talent to show off this year!!  Don't miss our talent show which will take place on Wednesday 11th February!  Come along and show your support!  The show will start at 6:45pm.  All acts performing on the night are expected to arrive by 6:30pm.  Remember to buy a raffle ticket too so you don't miss out on some great prizes!

Information about Head Lice from NHS Highland

Head Lice are a common problem in school aged children.  They can’t be prevented but regular checking ensures early detection and treatment if necessary.  Parents and carers should check their children’s head once a week during hair washing.  You need your usual shampoo, conditioner and a detection comb – ask your local pharmacist to recommend a suitable one.  Remember that you are looking for living moving lice – the only evidence that your child is infected.  If you find a living louse, ask your local pharmacist, school nurse, health visitor or GP for advice regarding treatment.

Reminders

• Please make sure that your child has indoor shoes and a PE kit.
• Please help your child get a smooth start to the day by making sure that they arrive in time – 9.00 a.m. for P4 – P7 and 9.15 a.m. for P1 – P3.  If you are collecting your child at the end of the day please try not to arrive too early as unfortunately we have no waiting facilities for you.
• Please phone the school office between 9.00 – 10.00 a.m. on the first day of your child’s absence.
• Please remember to label all your child's clothes and keep checking on lost property.
• Please keep expensive toys at home - one has gone missing from P3 and these are not insures whilst they are in school.
