  • Emergency Closure

In the event of school having to close in an emergency e.g. heating failure, power cut, adverse weather conditions, the following arrangements will apply:

1.  Closure before the start of the school day – Moray Firth Radio and Radio Highland will broadcast the information at regular intervals.  Children arriving    in school will only be sent home if contact can be made with parents or emergency contacts.

2.  Closure during the day – again Radio stations will be informed and children will only be sent home after contacts have been informed.

3.  Parents can also telephone 0870 0546 999 with the school code of 042850 – which will give up to date information about whether the school is closed or open.

4.  The website www.winter.highlandschools.org.uk has up to date information.

 
The school will make arrangements for the safe crossing of Old Perth Road where necessary.
Parents are asked to make sure that the school is issued with an emergency telephone number and that their children know exactly what to do and where to go in the event of an emergency.
Please try to avoid telephoning the school.  Closing the school is a complicated and time- consuming process and is impossible if the telephone lines are blocked by incoming calls.
